Noch etwas, das oft stört und für Unklarheiten sorgt: die fehlende Gross- und Kleinschreibung.

Ein Beispiel gefällig?

SOS - Anything but Love

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v-owrCJXUx4

Bound to your side and trapped in silence
Just a possession
Is this sex or only violence
That feeds your obsession

You send me to a broken state
Where I can take the pain just long enough
Then I am numb -t hen I just disappear

So go on infect me
Go on and scare me to death
Tell me I asked for it
Tell me I'll never forget
You could give me anything but love
Anything but love

Does it feel good to deny
Hurt me with nothing
Some sort of sick satisfaction
You Get from mindfucking

Stripped down to my naked core
The darkest corners of my mind are yours
That's where you live
That's where you breathe

So go on infect me
Go on and scare me to death
Dare me to leave you
Tell me I'll never forget
You could give me anything but love
Anything but love

Without any faith
Without any light
Condemn me to live
Condemn me to lie
Inside I am dead

So go on infect me
Go on and scare me to death
I'll be the victim
You'll be the voice in my head
You could give me anything but love
Anything but love

Ring Trilogy - Book 1 - Morrigan's Cross (Nora Roberts) - 400 pages

A bit of a slow start, but the story gets better with every chapter

9/10

Ring Trilogy - Book 2 - Dance Of The Gods (Nora Roberts) - 420 pages

I see a trend develop with the love stories, but aside from that the story is very nice. The bits in the caves and with the dragon are just perfect.

10/10

Fake - Volume 2 (Sanami Matoh) - 208 pages (reread)

Some fantastic parts, that make me go all thingly.
Bikky is still a bit annoying, but the stories with him and Carol get better to ignore on the rereads.

8/10

Fake - Volume 3 (Sanami Matoh) - 208 pages (reread)

Nice plot driven story.
I just love Barcley as a characzer.

9/10

Outlander - Book 2 - Dragonfly in Amber (Diana Gabaldon) 979 pages (reread)

The story keeps being muddy were the situation changes into war, but that is a known problem with Gabaldon.

8/10

The Pillars of the Earth (Ken Follett) - (audio) 40 hours 58 minutes (reread)

Better then I rememberd, a bit less good then "World Without End"

9/10

Fake - Volume 1 (Sanami Matoh ) - 208 pages (reread)

I love this series because the characters are actually likeable, the children not too annoying, and the typical sema/uke and school settings are broken.

8/10

Jack Daniels Series - Book 4 - Dirty Martini (J.A Konrath) - (audio) 7 hours 23 minutes

Perhaps even better then the first two volumes.
What is not to love about this?
The Chemist
The Trap House
The Toilets
Brilliant

10/10

Father Frank (Paul Burke) - 300 pages

Found this on a shelf in a Hospital
The story about a taxi-driving priest who is secretly an atheist is just a perfect thing if you tied to a sick bed.

8/10

Jack Daniels Series - Book 3 - Rusty Nail (J.A Konrath) - (audio) 8 hours 27 minutes

I'm not one to read series out of order, but it happens
This one is rather weak, even if one just has to love Alex as a villan.

Samuel Blackwood, deciesed (Emma Collingwood) - 75 pages

What shall I say.
I know the real identety of the Author, and that she comes from the LOTR and POTC fanfic scene.
There her writings are wonderful, but this story remains too flat, to predictable and without a good and exciting end.

5/10

Loolipop shoes (Joanne Harris) - 526 pages

The secondary characters stay way flatter in this then in "Chocolate", you never really feel for the fat guy and his shy girl, the woman with the dead son or Viannes mother. One also does not even need to remember Johnny Depp to know that Thierry is never a real match for Roux.
Only Zouzie is the one really great character in this, so the end is a bit disapointhing as well

8/10

Love Mode #1-9 (Yuki Shimizu) - 1734 pages in total

#1- I left the Manga phase long ago, but the premis of this got me interrested, and indeed it was totally worth the while to see little Izumi getting seduced by a guy who mistook him for a pro
#3 - Every Seme needs a young Uke, and no story is allowed to deverse from that principle
#5 - Again Reiji and Naoya centric. I just can't like them
#7 - this story does not fit the arch in any way 3/10 - 192 pages
#8 - Princess Kiichi saves the day. I always had a soft spot for him, and he is just geourgos with the long black hair
#9 - Those 5 bad days make more of a chaotic then dramatic impression

5/10

Harry Potter - Book 3 - Prisoner of Azkaban (J.K. Rowling) - (audio) 10 hours 30 (reread)

I once loved this book so much, this time I could not even manage to finish it

5/10

Jack Daniels Series - Book 2 -Bloody Mary (J.A Konrath) - 368 pages

This series is just getting better.

10/10

Diary of a Mad Mother-to-be (Laura Wolf) - 397 pages

5/10

Laughing along with the Swiss (Paul Bilton) - 108 pages

This book just is spot on
And still funny

8/10

Der Ball ist runt (Christian Eichler) - 222 pages

5/10

Stupid White Men (Michael Moore) - 320 pages

I guess if you read on of Moores books, you read them all

6/10

White Rose Rebel (Janet Paisley) - 400 pages

A fantastic book about the second Jacobite rising.
A bit hard to get into at first, but then it just flows perfectly.

About the loss of Hope [Jun. 8th, 2008|08:15 pm]
Both the hosting teams should get an award for being out of luck.
The Swiss and the Austrians were both the dominating teams, still both lost 0:1

It's funny how the experts act on TV.
The Swiss never gave up hope, that our team would try until the last moment to score, and that they just would do it somehow.
The Austrian expert keept being pesimisitc, and saying that he did not belive that the team could score or would try to do it
And the German expert (Vogts) would just keep dissing both the Swiss and the Austrians as hopeless, and suckers and that they both don't deserve to be in the tournament.
When he was reminded that both those teams played better then the favorites, he just keep saying that the better team never wins- after all the Germans did not win anything since 1957 no matter that they have always been the best .....
Thankfully we are about to see the Germans lose today!
Go Poland!

- Managed to smuggle various bottles of non-offical beer and other drinks into the Fanzone
(Best done if you enter the fanzone between games when everyone leaves on the exit points. No security people there)

- Managed to litter the streets after being reminded half a dozen of times that eating on public ground is prohibited at game days by McDonalds staff, and controlled if the seal is still on the bag by a German Poice officer at the train station
(Is this law if WTF-y much or is it just me?)

Also - There were reports about the entrance situation on the stadium and that people got in without having their high-security tickets controlled... during the next game here I have to work, but my friends will try to get in ....

Soap Fabrik (Manon Spierenburg ) - 295 pages

Eigentlich ein ganz nettes Buch zum Thema, leider wird die Story auf den letzten 80 Seiten ins lächerliche gerissen.
Die Welt dreht duch... im wasten Sinn

7/10

Harry Potter - Book 2 - Chamber of Secrets (J. K. Rowling) - (audio) 9 hours 47 minutes (reread)

Better I get over the whole finding of loose threads. It just takes the joy out o the story. (and HP lexicon already has stupid solutions of how the mistakes will work out anyway)

5/10

Under the Cover (Marian Keyes) - 240 pages

I got this by mistaking it for a fictive story about a writer, and ended up with colums. Good that I like colums.
Unfortunatly this author seems to be just like to you think a chick lit writer would be.
Everything that matters are chocolate, shoes and excercises where you dance bretebnding to be a flower in the wind.

6/10

Ballsaison (Pierre Emme) - 329 pages, stopped after 120 pages

Angels & Demons (Paul Scott) - 284 pages

No clue why I picked it up form the library.
I never cared for Robbie Williams, and this isn't even one of the offical biographies

5/10

Giacomo C. -  Book 5 - Liebe Cousine (Griffo) - 48 pages

So this was another double volume that in the end explainded a lot about book 4.

5/10

Harry Potter - Book 1 - Philosopher Stone (J.K. Rowling) - (audio) 8 hours 22 minutes (reread)

This time I went back quite spontaniously with the intent to find questions and loose ends that closed canon and dozens of Rowling  Interviews still have left open
(I really wonder if Rowling will just keep ignoring the fact that this book is the biggest proof that she fucked up the explanation of the birthyears of Charlie and Bill Weasley in her "Scottish Book" )

7/10

Jack Daniels Series - Book 1 - Whiskey Sour (J.A. Konrath) - 312 pages

I read the first chapter at Amazon a while ago, and since then I needed that I wanted to read the whole book
(Currently it is also up for free on the authors website here: http://www.jakonrath.com/WhiskeySourFree.pdf )
It's got great characters and an unique serial killer and manages to be both funny and scarry till the end

Generation Doof (Anne Weiss, Stefan Bonner) - 300 pages

Alles doof!! Vor allem die Autoren, die die Story aus dem Hintern ziehen

3/10

MacBeth (Shakespear) - 150 pages

5/10

He's Just Not That Into You (Greg Behrendt) - 176 pages

Aside that one should not read selfhelp books that are based on Sex and the City this was quite an interresting and as I fear educational read. There may be shy guys but a guy that falls into almost every category listed in this book is really unlikely your next boyfriend.

9/10

Stephanie Plum series - Book 1 - One for the Money (Janet Evanovic) - (Audio) 8 hours 34 minutes

Chicklit crime!
Usualy one of those genres would be enough to keep me away, but this serues really seems to be entertaining.

9/10

Stephanie Plum series - Book 2 - Two for the Dough (Janet Evanovic) - (audio) 2 hours 45 hours

Love the titel
too bad the story wasn't' as good as the first - or well maybe it was because of the abridging

6/10

Isolation Ward (Joshua Spanogle) - 527 pages

Not so much isolation in the plot itself.
The story goes way too soon in the direction of the fucked up love life and professional drama of the main character
I also think that the blurp at the back gives way too much away, as things on there only get discoverd in the last quarter of the book

7/10

Sex ist dem Jakobsweg sein Genitiv (Harald Schmidt) - 288 pages

The Intro says it all
Just put together a few keywords from other popular books in the title and watch your book fly off the shelves.
The guy just isn't funny or even cynical if he hasn't other people to write his lines.

3/10

The Study Triology - Book 1 - Poisen Study (Maria V Snyder) - (audio) 10 hours 32 minutes

I wss quite surprised by this book.
It's s story about a young woman that should get hanged for killing the son of an important man, but gets the chance to stay alive and become the food tester for the dictator.
Aside from the danger of being poisend by the next bite she also gets drawn in the political intreges of  thevcountry of Ixia, nevermind the other troubles of being hunted by the ghoast of the man she killed and hiding her newly developed skills of magic ( becaus knowing magic also gets you hanged)

10/10

Outlander Saga - Book 1 - Outlander (Diana Gabaldon) - 799 pages (reread)

I don't know when I last read this, still there were some parts that seemed all to familiar.
I also noted that in this book I 'm not as annoyed with the two main characters as I am in later books.

9/10

Keep Whole (Gwen Lessner) - 170 pages

Not really written for the stage of life I am in, so only the last part really applies.

3/10

Montag ist erst Uebermorgen (Tania Konnerth) - 159 pages

While interesting at first most of the excersises are repetive and too family oriented

4/10

In Death - Book 3 - Imortal in Death ( Nora Roberts) - 320 pages, stopped after 260

I had this on a PDA and once it crashed I never really picked it up again.
As for the killer - I got spoilled by someone in the library the other day

4/10

Assult on Reason (Al Gore) - (audio) 10 hours 10 minutes

The problem with the book is that the people he wants/needs to reach are unlikly to pick up a book.
To tell them how they get manipulated by TV he needs to reach them by TV.

5/10

World without End (Ken Follett) - (audio) 45 hours 40 minutes

Refreshingly diffrent from most other current releases in this genre.

10/10

War and Peace (Leo Tolskin) - (audio) stopped after 6 hours

No wonder this counts as a hard read. All they do is visit each other, sit around and talk about who is sick, who is about to wed and who will give birth.

2/10

Flowers in your hair (Millena Moser) - 282 pages

The author wrote two bestsellers about 15 years ago. Since then she moved to the US and wrote a few books situated in Switzerland with people acting way to american. Those books didn't sell so she writes semi autobiographical books about her life in the staates. The last one was  about her trials in finding the right yoga teacher, this one about how to find friends in San Fransisco.
Those the world really need to know about that?

Black Magician Trilogy - Book 3 - The High Lord (Trudi Canavan) - (Audio) 6 hours 21 minutes (reread)

Still the weakest link in the series. (And Akkarin seems the even more cheap Snape wanna-be now that we know Snapes full story)

7/10

The Tragical Comedy or Comical Tragedy of Mr. Punch (Neil Gaiman / Dave McKean,) - 96 pages

The same problem I usually have with grapic novels .. the story is lacking something, but the artwork is very pretty done

7/10

Giaccomo C - Book 4 - Eure Exzellenz (Griffo) - 48 pages

Weaker then the former volumes

3/10

Feuchtgebiete (Charlotte Roche) - 210 pages

There is a difference between fanatic hygiene and being as gross as possible just for the sake of being gross.
Also, we are to believe that girl is only 18 years old? Make her 25 and it is more believable.
(And I can't help but wonder how much Helen is a stand in for the author)

2/10

Millionär (Tommy Jaud) - 320 pages

It's only about a year since I read "Vollidiot" still I can't remember much from that story, and this one did nothing to relike the character.
Another boring example of the current German view of comedy
Or to quote from the book itself: "Schlech, schlecht, schlecht"

Twillight Saga - Book 2 - New Moon (Stephanie Meyer) - (audio) 14 hours  47 minutes

Should we really let teenage girls read this? The book makes it sound  all right to hurt your best friend who has a crush on you, just because the  heartless bastard who you have a crush on does not want you.

And that trip to Italy?  WTF??
Edward had like 5 minutes head start and still managed to get there at least 12 hours before Bella and AliceThere just aren't planes to Italy from Rio or New York in 5 minute  intervals, thank you very much

7/10

Twillight Saga - Book 3 - Eclipse (Stephanie Meyer) - (audio) 16 hours 02 minutes

Every sane reader gets the hint that the vamps and the wolves should work together at chapter 5 or so.Aside from that the story is also quite dragged out with stupid stuff.

And what is that whole crap with vamps not getting older? Of course they don't age visibly but Alice could still hold as many birthday parties as she wants, after all they do pretend to be normal people.

(Even if they still behave like they are teenagers and did not get any  experience at  unlife for a  century)

5/10

Much Ado about nothing (William Shakespeare) - (Audio)1 hour 24 minutes

David  Tennant makes a fantastic  Benedic, but  Shakespeare is still overrated

6/10

The Hammer of Eden (Ken Follett) - 528 pages

Note to self: Read more  Follett

10/10

The other side of midnight (Sydney Sheldon) - 344 pages (reread)

I really wanted to reread this for a while, but now I'm a bit  disappointed
Like some other of  Sheldons books I loved 10 years ago, this left me a bit unsatisfied  nowadays

6/10

Zauberwelt  der  JK Rowling (Jörg Knobloch) - 140 pages (reread)

This book has two main problems
1) It is outdated (written in 2000, published early in 2001)
2) There is too much guess work (Like Rowling was 9 years old when "The worst witch" got published. Maybe she read the book as a child and liked the idea of a school for young  magicans)

I very much loved the little detail about a insurance company in Germany who would pay you a curse in magic if  OOTP was not published by the end of 2001 - guess they had to pay out some of this courses for people who got  insured after this book came out, but  OOTP did not get published till 2003

2/10

One Red Paperclip (Kyle MacDonald) - 320 pages

I think I would have loved the story about how a guy managed to change stuff until he made a paperclip into a house way more if he would have done this without the major help of the media.

Things like that just get  easier once you got the publicity - But then I think the best part is the one that involves Alice Cooper

4/10

Tee Clipper (Johannes K. Soyener) - 820 pages

This story is one one hand dragged out too much, and on the same time does often not go deep enough into the plot.
Another big problem is that while there is a lot of nautic talk the terms never are explained within the text nor by an appendix - that makes a lot of the story hard to understand for people not familiar with nautic babble

7/10

Black Magician Trilogy - Book 1 - Magicians' Guild (Trudi Canavan) - (audio) 6 hours 29 minutes (reread)

It's not quite as fascinating as the first time around, but still a wonderful story

9/10

Black Magician Trilogy - Book 2 - Magicians' Guild (Trudi Canavan) - (audio) 6 hours 04 minutes (reread)

I don't know if it is because of the abrigged version or because I know how it ends, but this time I had a less difficult time to read parts of this, because they did not feel way to familiar.
That's quite good
